Obiettivi formativi
Il corso intende fornire gli strumenti concettuali per l’analisi delle strutture morfosintattiche e lessicali del tedesco e delle sue varietà in situazioni di contatto linguistico, prestando un’attenzione particolare ai fenomeni di stratificazione del lessico. In ottica lessicologica, il corso intende fornire gli strumenti per una descrizione del lessico di varietà di tedesco in peculiari contesti di contatto come isola linguistica, in particolare in Italia.
The course will provide the students with the conceptual tools required for the analysis of the morphosyntactic and lexical structures of German and of its varieties as they developed under the influence of language contact, paying particular attention to the stratification of the lexicon. From a lexicological point of view, the course aims at providing the instruments for a description of the lexicon of German varieties which are immersed in peculiar situations of language contact as a linguistic island, in particular on the Italian territory.

Conoscenza e capacità di comprensione
Gli studenti dovranno essere in grado di descrivere i principali fenomeni di natura morfosintattica e lessicale osservabili in varietà di tedesco in situazioni di contatto linguistico, e di esporre con una terminologia adeguata possibili scenari diacronici soggiacenti a processi di stratificazione lessicale. Inoltre dovranno essere in grado di ricostruire le caratteristiche delle isole linguistiche tedescofone, con particolare attenzione a quelle italiane.
Capacità di applicare conoscenza e comprensione e autonomia di giudizio
Gli studenti saranno messi in grado di sviluppare autonomia e flessibilità nella comprensione e nell’analisi delle situazioni di contatto linguistico con particolare attenzione ai fenomeni di natura morfosintattica e lessicale. Inoltre, dovranno essere in grado di analizzare i fenomeni di contatto linguistico, con particolare riguardo a quelli connessi con le isole linguistiche. Potranno quindi elaborare una presentazione di tipo seminariale e rispondere a domande di tipo interpretativo e non nozionistico, sviluppando analisi autonome, su casi concreti tratti dal repertorio linguistico individuato nelle isole linguistiche tedescofone italiane.
Abilità comunicative
Gli studenti dovranno dimostrare di saper esaminare comparativamente e criticamente temi ed argomentazioni comprendendone adeguatamente concetti, struttura e contesti, per mezzo anche di una presentazione di tipo seminariale, in genere con l’ausilio di powerpoint, di temi discussi durante il corso.
Capacità di apprendimento
Gli studenti dovranno mostrare di individuare autonomamente percorsi di approfondimento disciplinare, utilizzando nozioni e metodologie della linguistica del contatto, sia in prospettiva sincronica che diacronica, e delle discipline affini. Dovranno ricercare materiali e fonti per l’approfondimento e saper utilizzare strumenti bibliografici, sia in forma tradizionale che in formato elettronico, anche allo scopo di presentare in forma seminariale i risultati del loro approfondimento durante il corso.
Knowledge and understanding
The students will be required to describe the main phenomena of a morphosyntactic and lexical nature as they can be identified in German and its varieties in situations of language contact, and to expose with an adequate terminology possible diachronic scenarios underlying processes of lexical stratification. Furthermore, the students will have to be able to reconstruct the main properties of the German-speaking linguistic islands, paying particular attention to those found on the Italian territory.
Applying knowledge and understanding and making judgements
The students will be required to develop autonomy and flexibility in the comprehension and analysis of situation of language contact involving varieties of German paying particular attention to the phenomena of a morphosyntactic and lexical nature. Furthermore, the students will have to be able to analyze the phenomena resulting from language contact with special regard to those developed within linguistic islands. Accordingly, they will prepare an oral presentation and answer questions of an interpretive kind and not based on superficial factual knowledge concerning concrete cases drawn from the linguistic repertoire individuated in the German-speaking islands found on the Italian territory.
Communication skills
The students will have to show to be able to comparatively and critically examine subjects and arguments comprehending concepts, structure and contexts in an adequate manner, also by means of an oral presentation – usually with the help of powerpoint – of the subjects discussed during the course.
Learning skills
The students will have to show how to autonomously identify ways for enlarging their knowledge of the discipline, making use of notions and methodologies of contact linguistics, both in a synchronic and in a diachronic perspective, and of the contiguous disciplines. They will show the results of their search for materials and sources necessary for this goal and of the use of bibliographical tools, both in traditional form and on an electronic support, also in the form of an oral presentation of the results of their own investigation during the course.

Modalità di insegnamento
Lezioni, prevalentemente in lingua tedesca, della durata di 36 ore complessive (6 CFU), che si svolgono in aula con l’ausilio di tecnologie informatiche di supporto (slides e ulteriori materiali), che prevedono il coinvolgimento diretto degli studenti. Inoltre, durante il corso è prevista la presentazione da parte degli studenti di un Referat in forma orale su un argomento concordato con il docente.
In seguito alle limitazioni imposte dalla crisi sanitaria in corso, le lezioni avranno luogo in aula virtuale con trasmissione via streaming, con registrazione e caricamento di materiali didattici di supporto sulla piattaforma moodle.

Lessons (36 hrs./6 CFU), mainly held in German, taught in classroom with the support of electronic technologies (slides and further materials) stimulating the students’ direct participation. Furthermore, during the course the students are expected to prepare an oral presentation on a particular subject.
In view of the ongoing sanitary crisis, the lessons will take place in a virtual room with transmission in streaming, with additional recording and with the help of supporting materials uploaded on the platform moodle.

Modalità di verifica dell'apprendimento
Conoscenze e capacità previste saranno verificate attraverso un colloquio orale con domande, eventualmente in modalità remota. La preparazione sarà considerata adeguata (con votazione espressa in trentesimi), se lo studente dimostrerà capacità di esposizione, ricorrendo alla terminologia necessaria; se in modo autonomo – quindi, senza dipendere dalla presentazione degli argomenti offerta dai testi – proverà familiarità con i vari argomenti e problemi esposti nel corso; se, tra questi, riconoscerà o stabilirà rapporti e collegamenti di interdipendenza; se saprà considerarli nei rispettivi livelli di analisi, ambiti e rilievi concettuali. Inoltre, gli studenti dovranno sviluppare autonomamente alcuni aspetti del contatto linguistico che coinvolge il tedesco presentandone i risultati per mezzo di un contributo individuale (Referat). Occorrerà comunque aver superato previamente la prova che verifica la conoscenza della lingua tedesca (prova di lettorato).
Knowledge and skills will be verified by means of an oral examination based on questions, possibly held in remote modality. The preparation will be considered adequate (with a vote expressed in a scale from 18 to 30), if the students will demonstrate to express themselves in an appropriate way using the necessary terminology; if they will show familiarity with the various topics and problems discussed during the course in an autonomous way – i.e., without depending in a pedestrian way on the presentation of the topics offered by the texts; if – among these – they will be able to point out relations and interdependencies; if they will be able to consider them at their respective level of analysis, domain and conceptual relevance. Furthermore, the students will develop in an autonomous way some aspects of the language contact involving German, presenting the results by means of an individual contribution. At any rate, in order to be admitted to the examination, it will be necessary to pass the test for the language certification (test of lectorate).

Attività di supporto
L’insegnamento annuale di lettorato è volto alla preparazione della prova di lettorato, che è propedeutica per l’esame orale. Il lettorato, tenuto da un collaboratore didattico madrelingua, permette di rafforzare le conoscenze linguistiche di base. La frequenza non è obbligatoria, ma caldamente consigliata. Il corso ha durata annuale, con inizio a ottobre.

The annual course of lectorate is conceived as a support for preparing the test for the language certification which has to be passed before the oral examination. The lectorate, held by a mother-tongue collaborator, is not obligatory but warmly recommended, and is specifically aimed at students who need to reinforce their competence in German. It normally starts in October and runs for the whole year.
